ICMSA welcome announcement on REPS payments and urge farmers to join immediately

Welcoming the delayed first payments on REPS 4, John Comer, Chairman of ICMSA’s Farm Services & Environment Committee, pointed out that close to 11,000 farmers had joined the scheme by May 2008 and that - depending on the contents of their plan - annual payments of up to €9,000 per annum were available over a period of five years.

Mr Comer urged anyone interested in applying to contact their approved REPS planner immediately and begin assembling their application without delay. He pointed out that given the huge investments that most farmers were now making on their farms, many REPS conditions and requirements had already been met.
